MANILAi1pera, Philippines — The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) has reported a 22.08-percent decline in eight focus crimes in the city from Oct. 1 to Nov. 15.

The QCPD said only 187 incidents of major crimes such as murder, homicide, physical injury, rape, robbery and theft, including cars and motorcycles, were recorded during the period.

Col. Melecio Buslig Jr., QCPD director, said the figure shows a significant decline of 53 cases when compared to the 240 incidents reported from Aug. 15 to Sept. 30.

Buslig attributed the reduction to heightened police visibility, community engagement and proactive crime prevention measures.

“The decline in crimes in Quezon City is proof of Pulis Kyusi’s continuous efforts to maintain peace and safety for every citizen,” Buslig said.

Theft saw the most notable reduction, with incidents dropping from 107 to 83, or a decline of 22.43 percent.

Among the city’s police stationsi1pera, the Kamuning police station recorded the largest decrease in crime, with cases dropping from 33 to only 15, or a 54.55-percent reduction.
