Prime Video today announced the exclusive global streaming premiere of Kabir Khan directorial 'Chandu Champion'. The film is available to stream in India and over 240 countries and territories worldwide, from today, August 9.

The film is based on the life of freestyle swimmer Murlikant Petkar who became the first Paralympic gold medalist from India. He served as a soldier in the 1965 Indo-Pak War. It left him physically impaired. Despite several injuries and challenges, he went to bag India’s first Paralympic gold medal in 1972. The film highlights the themes of patience, hard work, resilience, perseverance, and undying human spirit. Kartik Aaryan left no stone unturned to get into the skin of the character. He did rigorous training and also lost weight for the film.

As per reports. 'Chandu Champion' closed its curtains at Rs 87 crore worldwide. The movie might not have entered the coveted Rs 100 crore club, but it wowed the audiences with its impressive storytelling and performances.

Apart from Kartik Aaryan, the film also starred Vijay Raaz, Bhuvan Arora, Rajpal Yadav, Aniruddh Dave, Yashpal Sharma, and Shreyas Talpade in key roles.

Kartik Aaryan in a statement said that playing Murlikant Petkar has been an ''absolute honour and a transformative journey'' for him. Calling it the ''most challenging'' film of his career, he saidriobet, ''It took me one and a half years of intense preparation to truly get into his skin. I had to completely cut out sugar and follow a strict diet during this period. His incredibly inspiring story resonated deeply with me, and I will forever be grateful to Kabir sir and Sajid sir for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.''
